La Sapienza University of Rome has announced a significant public recruitment campaign for 2026. As a result, 99 permanent positions will be filled across administrative, technical, and specialist areas. For many candidates, especially those interested in long-term stability, this initiative represents an important opportunity within the Italian public sector.

In Italy, concorsi pubblici (public competitions) are the primary gateway to public employment. Therefore, they offer regulated contracts, transparent selection procedures, and structured career paths. For international professionals already based in Italy, or planning to relocate, this competition is particularly relevant.

Overview of the La Sapienza University Public Competition

Overall, the recruitment process is divided into four separate procedures, each targeting specific professional profiles. In particular, the largest procedure is managed through the RIPAM system, a national platform used for large-scale public recruitment.

Meanwhile, three additional procedures focus on more specialized roles linked to student services and international activities.

Moreover, the competition is open to both secondary-school diploma holders and university graduates. However, eligibility requirements vary depending on the position applied for. In all cases, successful candidates will be hired on permanent contracts, in line with Italian public administration regulations.

Who Can Apply

First of all, applicants must be at least 18 years old and enjoy full civil and political rights.
In addition, they must be physically fit for public employment and must not have been dismissed from previous public sector positions. Italian and EU citizens are eligible; however, non-EU citizens may also apply under specific legal conditions.

Regarding education, requirements depend on the role. For example, assistente (collaborator) positions generally require a secondary school diploma, often in technical or administrative fields.
Funzionario (officer) positions, on the other hand, require a university degree, usually in areas such as economics, law, engineering, architecture, or international relations.

Furthermore, some positions include reserved quotas for candidates who have completed military or universal civil service. These reservations follow national public recruitment regulations.

Available Positions and Professional Profiles

In total, 99 positions are available and are distributed across four procedures.

First, 75 positions are offered through the RIPAM competition.
These include roles such as administrative officers, technical officers, IT collaborators, and accounting assistants.

In addition, 8 positions are dedicated to school and career orientation experts. These professionals support students in academic decision-making and transition phases, including services for students with disabilities.

Moreover, 12 positions focus on internationalization activities. These roles support international mobility programs, global partnerships, and cooperation projects.

Finally, 4 positions are allocated to student services and academic process specialists. Their work focuses on enrollment procedures, academic records, and internal administrative processes.

Application Process

The application procedure varies depending on the competition.

For the RIPAM procedure, candidates must apply online through the InPA portal. Therefore, a digital identity such as SPID, CIE, or CNS is required. The deadline is 27 January 2026, and a participation fee of €10 applies.

By contrast, applications for the specialized expert roles must be submitted via certified email (PEC).
In this case, the deadline is 21 January 2026. Detailed instructions are provided in the official notices.

Importantly, international applicants should verify in advance whether their qualifications require formal recognition in Italy.

Selection Process

Generally, the selection process includes a written examination and, in some cases, an oral interview. Typically, written tests consist of multiple-choice questions assessing professional knowledge and reasoning skills. For officer positions, English language competence and basic digital skills may also be evaluated.

Meanwhile, specialized profiles may face tests focused on sector-specific expertise. As a result, candidates are advised to carefully review the syllabus provided in each call.
